It could get buried in the other FF threads, sure, but eh. Let's liven things up.

First off I'm an FFXI player. That's one of the things that keeps me distracted during the weekends when all the scheduled events take place, so when I heard of FFXIV, I was actually pretty floored. I was of the side of the internet that didn't believe SE's 'Rapture' would be Yet Another Final Fantasy. I was actually kinda hoping they'd at least choose another of their franchises if not create something entirely new.

I'm pretty curious to see how they differentiate between XIV and XI, considering they're using similar racial designs. I'm also curious to see just how many people are disappointed that they're doing another FFOnline, especially considering how FFXI ended up the red-headed stepchild outside of Japan (where it's actually pretty popular, with a magazine or few with dedicated FFXI columns).

So what does everyone else think?

I heard about FF14 in class(Game developers talking about games in a programming class....how ironic), I'm not an MMO person so I can't really vote

A lot of non-MMO FF fantards are disappointed that they're doing another FF that they consider not a 'true' FF of the series (since it's basically 'unbeatable' and pay-to-play). I remember back when XI was announced I was disappointed. I didn't see myself playing an online FF when I was already playing UO and EQOA (lulz). It's probably the same here with a lot of people.

Basically a good question for the non-MMO people would be whether or not you're disappointed they're doing another online title in the series I guess.
