Im Cyan and i might be able to help out here and there. I dont have any real experience but a friend of mine took it upon himself to teach me a couple of things. I've done some proofreading, editing, typesetting and cleaning. However i do not have any ''real experience" Im a busy mom of 2 georgious kids but im sure i can be of help in my free time....wich would be right after i got the bratpack in bed. Im an absolute manga nut and since i always enjoy them very much, i figured i would do something in return for all those hardworking ppl who make my reading experience possible. Ill try those testpages but...dont hold your breath im still learning and photoshop still feels like the bermuda triangle. Everytime i open it i feel like it might swallow me whole and devour me

Proofing: English is my second language but ive been told im fairly good at sentence build up and making it flow (whatever that means but im sure you know what hes talking about)

Typesetting: not my most favorite thing but i can handle it fairly well

Editing: So so i suck at leveling and sometimes my clonestamp flips me the bird (i swear it does) Other then that if its not too complicated i should be able to do a decent job.

ehhhhm i also should point out that i work well under pressure (as long as i dont get yelled at) and i am not afraid to learn

Welcome! It is always a happy sight to see someone applying. If you don't mind, I would like you to skip the typesetting and editing for now and be a proofreader. For the test, simply go over your post and make it PERFECT in terms of grammar. For sentence structure go the best way possible; meaning make it as simple and not convoluted as you can. For example:

At night he goes to the park.-> This is a no-no. The preposition "at" begins the sentence but has no object of preposition, instead it is formed with "night", an adverb; therefore, it is a verbal specifically called a present participle. "He" is the subject but comes after the preposition, and "goes to" is a preposition in this case because an infinitive needs a verb couplet. "goes" is the helping verb of "to" and "park" is the object of the preposition.

He goes to the park at night.-> Yes , "He" is the subject and starts off the sentence and then the preposition follows.

Don't mind the Nazi Grammar Police-esque presentation above. It's just an example of making things overly complicated.

Hahaha errrrrr i hope your joking. My english is far from perfect...im sorry. I had to read it 4 times! your scary...... The chapter my friend gave me required me to arm myself with an english dictionary and a ''how to perfect english grammar for dummies'' guide. It took blood sweat and tears to finish that. I think i will just go ahead and do the editing test. But i promise i will brush up on my english grammar and get back to you.

Nah it's okay. Honestly though, it was kind of a joke. If you want to be a proofreader all you have to do is make the English sound good and make the tone fit the character. If you have a nerd start talking like he's a baby or a kid talking like a college professor, then the tone does not fit. I already accepted you anyway...haha

Well ehhmmm....since i still have lots to learn about editing i can just do a little more research on that and maybe even get somebody here to teach me the ropes. In the mean time i can do proofing and typesetting. Seems like you need that more then a newbie editor. As long as you lot dont swamp me with work i can do both. Im easy....you can use and abuse me any way you see fit And thank you for exepting my quirky self.....Now how does one go about this? Plz dont make me go on mirc...it hates my guts! Ah oke...allright that was fast. The last scanlators group i applied for wanted me to jump trough so many hoops it felt like they wanted me to do a full body physical check up before they let me in....i declined....too old for that stuff....Thx. Im not familiar with that manga but ill look it up. Now....how do i get it?
